Two teams play in D3 and D4 within the Nîmes Handiclub. The young man, an intern at the Medical Educational Institute (IME) La Cigale in Nîmes, has been in the field for ten years. “It requires both mental strength and stability, you shouldn’t think just because you’re in an armchair doesn’t mean it’s not tiring.“And the same continues:”It’s a release. On the pitch, we clear our heads. We forget all the worries of daily life.“His teammate Maxime, 16, enjoys every match:”Whether we lose or win, we stay united. There is a lot of communication between us, a real team spirit.”

The Nîmes Handi Club benefits from public subsidies (City of Nîmes, Department of Gard and Occitanie Region) but also from essential sponsorships to enable it to survive. And in particular to finance armchairs manufactured and imported from the United States. Cost per unit: €12,000, excluding maintenance. “And they have to be renewed approximately every two years.“, underlines the president. So thanks to the Lactic Guys from K-Remo, 500 euros were added to the piggy bank, greeted by broad smiles.
