Vienna is finally breathing
This one, they went to get it! At the end of the seventh day, CS Vienna finally secured its first victory of the season. A 13-11 success against Tarbes which is worth gold. The Ciel et Blanc will not imitate Cognac, 14th and dead last last season with zero victories on the clock.
Against the Haut-Pyrénées, the Viennese perhaps did not deliver their best match of the season, paradoxically. With a first period marked by a long stoppage in play following the injury of Tarbais, Philippe Buffevant’s men stayed in the game and held on against Stado. What if this first success allowed Ciel et Blanc to finally release the handbrake?
It’s a flop
A very large soft stomach
Reading the National ranking is clear to say the least. The Albi/Nice/Narbonne/Périgueux/Carcassonne quintet is not slowing down. Blagnac, 6th, is between the top of the ranking… and the impressive soft underbelly. Between Bourgoin (7th, 16 points) and the first relegated Bourg (13th, 13 points), there are only three small points.
Worse, with the exception of the Burgiens, the six other teams in this inert part of the ranking all lost this weekend. Certainly, the unstructured schedule of this season is not innocent of this statistical fact. But the fact remains that teams could lose big while waiting for the return phase of the championship, when the differential between home and away matches is balanced.

In a certain anonymity, Albi posted his sixth victory in a row in the championship this weekend. Since their first trip of the season to Bourgoin, the Tarnais have no longer tasted defeat. This series will be put to the test this Friday, in Carcassonne.
