José Montero, one of the figures of the Verde against Suardi, recounted the sensations left by the premiere: “The balance is very positive. Defensively we were very good. The only thing that is kind of bad is that in the last quarter they scored 30 points, but then they scored 17, 15 and 12 (there were 11 in the third segment).”

“We were doing great until the last quarter and we have to try to correct that. It was also a great defense. There we are being a little more demanding because we want things to go well for us, but there is time to work, there is time to improve,” the Santiago guard added to Mundo D.

“We can have these bumps because we are a new team. What we have to do is work to make that pothole shorter or so that there are no potholes. There is time to work and continue on this path. Winning there is much easier to correct. As long as it is with victory, it is welcome,” added Montero, author of 16 points.

-How did you see the attack on Athens?

-In attack, at times we have not worked, but at times it flowed. We played for the one who was best, we looked for the one who was best positioned to shoot and in the first half we took very good shots and they didn’t go in, but I think that in the game we worked it out and we played a good game offensively as well.

– Do you agree that the game was missing?

-Yes Yes. For me, it comes down to effectiveness, not the game. We were playing well, but we shot, I have no idea the number now, but about 15 triples on firm foot, alone, with time and space. So, if 4 or 5 more shots went in, we made a little more difference. The game happened like this. They are also a good team, we have to give them credit. He fought until the last. The Argentine League is like that, it’s going to be very hard. So we have to keep working.

-It is a mix of sensations, between anxiety, pressure, whether or not to want to win, to start winning. So, nothing is very easy. We have to continue working, little by little taking off that backpack, as they say, and enjoying it too. -San Isidro is coming from San Francisco, you know him well. Is it special for you?

-Yes, it is always special to face my former teammates, to face people I know, leaders, fans, everything. But hey, today I’m defending this shirt, I want, like everywhere I go, I want to win. It will be a very tough game, they have a very special way of playing, they play many positions, they press… We will try not to get into their game and play ours, impose our rhythm from the beginning.

-How did you see your debut in Athens?

-Playing in Athens is nice, very nice. The people have accompanied, that is important, that the people also accompany. We have a great commitment and responsibility, and that you support us from the beginning is important. We have to be united, because it is going to be very long, and it is going to be hard, so we have to be together in this, because things work better that way.
