MEXICALI.- Simultaneously, vaccination against seasonal influenza and COVID-19 will begin in Baja California, starting on Tuesday, October 17, announced the Secretary of Health, J. Adrián Medina Amarillas.
He reported that the biologicals will be applied to the population in a vulnerable context, according to the national vaccination strategy, which includes the dose against Influenza for girls and boys from 6 months to 5 years of age, older adults in general and pregnant women. .
While the COVID-19 vaccine will be available for the population from 18 years of age to 59 years of age, who present any comorbidity, for the adult population over 60 years of age and older it will be applied in general, pregnant women, first responders ( members of the fire department and police) and health personnel.
“On instructions from Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, these vaccines will be applied not only in health centers, but at some strategic points, so that the population has quick access to protection against these diseases and thus continue with the epidemiological control that we have maintained in the State,” highlighted Medina Amarillas.
Additionally, vaccination modules will be enabled in all Mobile Health Centers that travel to remote areas throughout the State, to guarantee coverage of the population in these vulnerable areas, Medina Amarillas said.
