Saturday October 21, as part of Pink October, the Lama 19 company will perform in the Jacques-Miro room at 6 p.m. in a piece entitled “9h44”.
The author and director of this play is none other than Coursannais Laurent Quentier, while the performer is his sister, Kole. Two locals who took to the stage for the first time in Coursan for Kole (with the company Corps et Voix) and in Narbonne for Laurent. Children who have grown up, and what was a fun and extracurricular activity has taken its place, all its place. Trained at Paul-Valéry University and the Montpellier Drama Conservatory (bachelor’s and master’s degrees in performing arts), Laurent Quentier is today a multi-tasking artist: artistic director of a theater company, author, director on stage, actor, composer, singer, or even lyricist. He has also appeared on television in several episodes of the series Un si grand soleil, Plus belle la vie, Demain nous belongs, in classic plays, musical comedies, some of which are for young audiences…
The subject of “9h44” is an autofiction inspired by his personal life. Thirty-year-old Gabrielle with a monotonous life learns one morning (at 9:44 a.m.) that she has cancer. She will now do everything to flourish and realize her dreams. “This piece combines humor, resilience, poetry, it’s a breath of positive oxygen… It’s a hymn to life” says the author. The play was written in 2017 and performed numerous times throughout France. It was published by Éditions du Lys Bleu in 2022.
Entrance is 5 euros. Places can be reserved online but there will be a ticket office on site. Half of the evening’s proceeds will be donated to the Pink October collective dear to the referent, Rosy Saouli Suchail.
