NBA Preseason Update: New York Knicks Fall to Minnesota Timberwolves, Evan Fournier Shines

The NBA preseason continues, now nine days before the resumption of the Championship. Saturday, at Madison Square Garden, the New York Knicks lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves (121-112). But Evan Fournier, the French back of the Knicks, had the opportunity to show himself. He spent 19 minutes on the floor for 15 points (6/10 shooting including 3/6 three-pointers) and four rebounds.

RJ Barrett was New York’s (and game’s) leading scorer with 23 points. For Minnesota, Rudy Gobert played 22 minutes, for four points, nine rebounds and two steals. To win, the “Wolves” relied on Naz Reid (22 pts), and Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards, both authors of 17 points.

Two other matches were played on Saturday. Atlanta beat the New Orleans Pelicans (110-105) and, after a nice offensive battle, the Utah Jazz won ahead of the Portland Trail Blazers (138-133). Lauri Markkanen scored 26 points for the Jazz. The Blazers relied on Anfernee Simons (29 pts), Jerami Grant (24) and Shaedon Sharpe (20).
