Night Grocery Store Targeted in Violent Attack and Shooting Incident

A group of individuals attacked a night grocery store on rue Eurydice in the Martelle district of Montpellier. After breaking windows and taking away the cash drawer, the perpetrators fled. A few moments later, the passenger of a vehicle fired his gun in the direction of the business, injuring one person.

This is a matter that will not help the already sulphurous reputation of night grocery stores. This Sunday morning, around 3 a.m., one of these businesses located on rue Eurydice, along the expressway in La Martelle, was the target of a double vengeful operation.

Broken windows and stabbing

Initially, a group of six people entered the establishment and the tone with the manager quickly escalated, perhaps over a problem of refusal of credit. The individuals attacked the exterior and interior windows then decided to take the cash drawer and the keys to the merchant’s vehicle. He was lightly hit in the forearm by a sharp object, possibly a knife. The group then fled in two vehicles.

Alerted, the police immediately went to the site to carry out observations and collect testimony from the manager. And while they were there, a vehicle approached again. His passenger then opened fire at least four times in the direction of the business. One of the projectiles hit a person in the calf while the police were two meters away.

Type 22LR holsters were found near the grocery store. The searches launched to find the vehicle in which the shooter was found proved in vain.

The PJ seized

We did not know, this Sunday noon, the reasons for this particularly violent double punitive operation. A few months ago, gunshots also occurred in front of a night grocery store, in the Saint-Martin district.

The judicial police were charged with the investigation by the prosecution.
