Indonesian National Team Moves Up in FIFA Rankings After Win Against Brunei Darussalam

FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The position of the Indonesian National Team in the FIFA Rankings in October 2023 has again experienced changes and improvements.

It is known that Indonesia managed to move up in the FIFA rankings after a country above it failed to gain points.

Saint Saint Kitts and Nevis failed to get additional points in the FIFA rankings even though they managed to win over Sint Marteen.

Previously, the Indonesian national team itself managed to win over Brunei Darussalam in the first leg of the 2023 World Cup Qualification round in the Asian zone.

The Indonesian national team managed to win 6-0 against guests Brunei Darussalam in the first leg of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Indonesia’s match against Brunei Darussalam itself took place at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Jakarta, Thursday (12/10/2023).

With this victory, the Garuda Squad managed to gain an additional 8.66 points and this made the Indonesian National Team’s ranking rise to 146th position.

However, it didn’t take long for the ranking to drop again because Saint Kitts and Nevis wanted to play in the CONCACAF Nations League against Sint Marteen.

Saint Kitts and Nevis also succeeded in winning with a narrow score of 3-2 in the match which was held on Friday 13 October 2023.

Unfortunately, this victory did not mean that Saint Kitts and Nevis did not get any additional points. Because the opposing country, Sint Marteen, is not under the auspices of FIFA.

As reported on the site football-ranking.comThe Indonesian national team is currently still ranked 146th in FIFA, up one place from previously being in 147th position.
