The number of Chinese car brands in Russia will already be in the fifth tenth next year.
The publication Autonews.ru reports that currently 26 Chinese car brands are already operating on the Russian market, but this is not all that the car industry of this huge country can offer – in the remaining months of 2023 and 2024, the number of Chinese brands will increase to 41. The mentioned publication reports that the Asian country’s presence in the Russian car market is growing at a tremendous speed: at the beginning of 2023, there were 15 car brands from China in Russia, until the fall, their number increased by 11, in addition, 15 more brands have announced their desire to enter the Russian market.
Most of the newcomers are brands that are part of concerns that already exist in Russia. These are brands such as Kaiyi and Jetour, owned by Chery, Livan, owned by Geely, or Hongqi, part of the FAW concern. However, there are also absolutely new brands, for example, the Rising brand, which belongs to the largest Chinese car manufacturer SAIC, which was previously unavailable in Russia.
The Autostat agency has also given its assessment – according to their calculations, 46 new Chinese cars should appear in Russia in the last five months of 2023, which will be offered by 20 different Chinese manufacturers.
