The recently released Switch version of Gothic was supposed to receive many fixes, which would eliminate bugs that have been present in the PC game for over twenty years. THQ Nordic actually managed to get rid of a large part of the “old” problems, but some of them remained and new ones appeared.
So a patch was announced – it was to be released by the end of this week. THQ Nordic kept its word and patch 1.02 is now available for download. You can find the list of changes made on the server Gothic Community on Discord by going to the “read only” category and then to the “gothic-news” channel. Below I am posting it translated into Polish.

Amendments:
fixed a bug that caused black goblins to not move; fixed ladders; NPCs will no longer float or walk in the air; a script that caused Cor Calom to cast a sleep spell too quickly on the Nameless One when he tried to loot his chest now works correctly; the script that caused Snipes to attack the Nameless One when he opened Aaron’s trunk now works as it should; if the Nameless One is defeated in combat, he will lose his weapon – NPCs can pick it up, just as we are able to take their weapons after winning encounter; fixed picking up stacked items; you can now complete the quest called Chromanin; after reloading the save game, the number of items assigned to the quick access menu will be correct; bow shooting has been improved; NPCs no longer get stuck when running on tables; interface user: the scale and field of view of items have been improved (rings in the inventory now display correctly); the map preview now works as intended; a bug has been fixed whereby the value of a large number of items for sale was rounded incorrectly; all other bugs have been eliminated when trading with merchants; NPCs using ranged weapons will no longer hang when loading a save; fixed the use of lute and horn outside the inventory; fixed a bug that occurred when sprinting; bleeding now displays correctly; fixed an exploit that allowed multiplying the damage fire damage; the name of the selected spell displays correctly when we want to use it; magic circles display correctly when using the corresponding rune; fixed how the Nameless One “draws” his fist; script where Lester had incorrect dialogue during mission in the mountain fortress, now works correctly; errors in the script have been fixed, causing problems in the dialogue with Diego during the joint search for the focus stone if we killed enemies prematurely; the quest related to Thorus no longer gets blocked.
Improvements:
the name of the spell is displayed at the top of the magic circle menu; the field of view has been improved when playing in widescreen resolution; stealth can now also be disabled using the B button; dialog windows will scale correctly in both portable and desktop mode on the Switch; bug fixes have been made location; the way rain is displayed has been improved; a “legendary” camera setting has been implemented; a new look and focus (?) of the map has been added; items can now be thrown from the inventory; the interface of dialogue options has been improved; the exchange of items for ore nuggets has been automated – just select the items for sale and confirm the transaction to make it, as long as the merchant has a number of nuggets corresponding to the value of our goods (no need to transfer them manually between windows).
If you encounter any bugs while playing Gothic on Switch, you can report them at this page. As a reminder, I would like to add that the appropriate fixes will also be implemented in the PC version of the game. However, we do not know yet when this will happen.
Gothic Classic – this is the name of the version of this RPG dedicated to the Nintendo console – met with such great interest from the community that the box editions prepared by THQ Nordic turned out to be too small to meet the players’ needs. What’s more, the second part of the series will also undergo a similar conversion. Gothic II: Complete Classic will be available on Switch on November 29. More information about this can be found here.
