National Meeting of Muralism and Public Art Raises Awareness for Environmental Protection

The meeting, which will last until next Sunday, has the participation of more than a dozen muralists from all over the country, members of the International Italo Grassi Movement.
In the aforementioned public space, the artists will work from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., on MDF plates measuring 2.75 meters by 1.85 meters that will later be gifted to educational institutions in the city.
The municipal Secretary of Culture and Education, José Sand, highlighted the holding of this National Meeting of Muralism and Public Art, “where artists from different parts of the country come to work on a very important theme for our city, our region, the country and the world, which has to do with the impact on the environment. We will work until Sunday with this theme through art, which is a very sensitive language, but also friendly, to leave a message to all citizens,” added the official.
Sand also highlighted that “Corrientes is consolidating itself as a City of Events, and in this case we seek through art to make visible these top-level artists who visit us, who are going to continue beautifying our city, because the murals that are being made on plaques of MDF will be donated to educational institutions that will surely be placed in a strategic place in their buildings, so that their students continue to be aware of the importance of caring for the environment.
“The works are carried out in the Cambá Cuá park and access is completely free, so we invite residents to come and observe the works and take away an interesting message from these great artists who participate in this great National Meeting of Muralism and Public Art in the city”, stated, finally, the municipal Secretary of Culture and Education. One of the artists present at the Meeting is Raúl Orozco from San Luis, who is general coordinator of the International Movement of Italo Grassi Muralists.

In addition to Raul Orozco and Alejandro Lacava, also participating in the Meeting: Cesar Alejandro Gallardo (Chaco), Celia Velazquez (Formosa), Silverio de Jesus Grael (Formosa), Aurora Mabel Carral (Buenos Aires), Patricia Pagnone Laven (St. Louis), Emmanuel Villalba (Cordoba), Maria Alexandra Fame (Santa Fe), Salvador Mizdraji (Corrientes) and Nilda Alexandra Ojeda (Correntes).
