Books – Muhammad Shaaban:
An official security source in the Giza Security Directorate revealed the final outcome of a mass poisoning incident in one of the villages of the Al-Ayat Center in the south of the governorate.
The source said in exclusive statements that a lupine meal at one of the wedding parties caused an allegation of mass poisoning of about 80 injured people, including 40 children, confirming that their health condition was stable and that the majority of them left the hospital after receiving the necessary treatment.
Informed sources – who declined to publish their names – said that the wedding attendees ate “lupins,” which caused them to become ill and allegedly poisoned, as a result of which they were taken to the hospital.
The sources added in exclusive statements that 80 injured people underwent stomach washing by medical staff at Al-Ayyat Hospital in preparation for their successive departure after their health condition stabilized.
An official source reported – earlier – that the incident resulted in 180 alleged cases of poisoning – most of them minor cases – as a result of eating food while attending an event, pointing out that the injured were transferred to Al-Ayyat Central Hospital to undergo the necessary medical treatment, and a report was drawn up on the incident under the supervision of Major General Hisham. Abu Al-Nasr.
