New Delhi, October 14 / WAM / His Excellency Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council, met – on the sidelines of the ninth summit of the heads of parliaments of the G20 countries, held in New Delhi – His Excellency Numan Kurtulmuş, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency Saqr Ghobash congratulated His Excellency Numan Kurtulmuş on his new position as President of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey for the next five years, wishing him success in his duties and career.
The meeting was attended by the Federal National Council delegation, His Excellency Marwan Al Muhairi, Mira Al Suwaidi, and Dr. Nidal Al Tunaiji, members of the Federal National Council, His Excellency Dr. Omar Abdul Rahman Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Council, Afra Al Basti, Assistant Secretary General for Parliamentary Communications, and Tariq Ahmed Al Marzouqi, Assistant Secretary General for Presidency Affairs. The Council, along with a number of members of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey.
During the meeting, they discussed the existing parliamentary friendship and cooperation relations between the two councils and ways to enhance coordination, consultation and exchange of opinions on various issues of common interest, enhancing communication between the two countries, and exchanging visits and parliamentary activities between the two sides.
His Excellency Saqr Ghobash stressed the Federal National Council’s keenness to strengthen parliamentary relations with the Turkish Parliament, considering that parliamentary relations represent a major impetus for the growth and development of bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields. His Excellency pointed to the remarkable development in bilateral relations between the UAE and the Republic of Turkey, and the desire of the governments of the two countries to advance relations towards broader and broader horizons, and joint work to achieve the aspirations of the two friendly countries.
His Excellency touched on the UAE’s hosting of the twenty-eighth session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) at the end of the year 2023, which is considered the largest international climate action conference, in an effort to unify global efforts to limit the repercussions of climate change, as this will enhance the protection of… The environment, achieving sustainable economic growth and human prosperity.
His Excellency Saqr Ghobash extended an invitation to His Excellency Numan Kurtulmuş to visit the Emirates to participate in the parliamentary conference held on the sidelines of the activities of the twenty-eighth session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28).
For his part, His Excellency Numan Kurtulmus, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey, stressed the Turkish Parliament’s keenness to maintain constant communication with the Federal National Council by holding more meetings and meetings and working with friendship groups and specialized committees to intensify parliamentary visits and meetings in the interest of both sides.
He pointed out that Turkish-UAE relations are witnessing great development and growth, stressing his country’s keenness to build distinguished relations with the UAE.
His Excellency extended an official invitation to His Excellency Saqr Ghobash to visit the Republic of Turkey at the head of a parliamentary delegation.
