JERUSALEM (Reuters) – The Israeli military said on Saturday that it was aware of the incident in southern Lebanon in which Reuters TV cameraman Issam Abdullah was killed, adding that an investigation was underway.
An army spokesman told reporters, “We are aware of the incident that occurred with the Reuters journalist. We are looking into the matter. We already have footage. We are conducting an interrogation. It is tragic.”
Issam Abdullah was killed and six other journalists were injured in southern Lebanon yesterday, Friday, when they were hit by missiles fired from the direction of Israel, according to a Reuters photographer who was at the scene.
