Ferrari Begins Accepting Cryptocurrency Payments for Luxury Sports Cars in America

Car company Ferrari has begun accepting cryptocurrency payments for the purchase of its luxury sports cars in America.

The company is scheduled to expand this policy to include customers in Europe after receiving requests in this regard from its wealthy customers.

Ferrari’s head of marketing and trading, Enerco Galliera, told Reuters that cryptocurrencies have made efforts to reduce their carbon footprint by introducing new software and making wider use of renewable energy sources.

He explained that the company’s decision came as a result of some small investors who built their wealth from cryptocurrencies, while others were traditional investors who wanted to diversify their investment portfolios.

The company intends to expand acceptance of cryptocurrencies in Europe by the first quarter of next year.

Ferrari shipped more than 1,800 cars to the US territory in the first half of this year.

While the company’s total sales in 2022 amounted to about 13.2 thousand cars, with prices starting from 200 thousand euros ($211 thousand), up to two million euros.

Europe, the Middle East and Africa accounted for 46% of the company’s total car shipments in the first half of this year.
