In terms of places visited, the most visits were to Astana, Almaty and Mangistau region. 31 percent of tourists visited resort areas, of which the largest number chose the Almaty mountain cluster – 57.7 percent, another 14.7 percent – our region.
Basically, visitors used railway transport (31.5 percent), air (30.4 percent) and international bus (22.8 percent) to travel, and stayed for free with relatives or friends (52.3 percent), hotels (24 .9 percent), rented apartments and houses (18.4 percent) and other places of accommodation (4.4 percent).
As established, the average length of stay of foreigners was four days.
The total expenses of incoming visitors amounted to 3.6 billion tenge. The purposes of the trip were distributed as follows: for personal purposes – 2.4 billion tenge, for business and professional purposes – 1.1 billion tenge.
The main item of expenditure for visitors was transportation costs for international transportation and within Kazakhstan – 53.8 percent and food – 15.3 percent. An insignificant part of expenses accounted for accommodation in places of accommodation – 13 percent, purchase of goods – 13.7 percent.
