Rana Plaza, wage war in Bangladesh, waste of resources, environmental pollution, child labor and overproduction – fast fashion sounds like something you can run away with. The path to a sustainable fashion industry is not easy. Processes and certainties within the value chain must be transformed. It’s complex but possible.
Many labels and shops are setting out to change the industry for the better. Small companies find it difficult to penetrate global supply chains on their own, to continue their training and also to manage day-to-day business.
That’s why Frankfurter Lust auf Besser leben gGmbH is establishing the Fashion Campus 2030, a further training network for the future of fashion in Rhine-Main. 23 members are already there before the official start.
Funded by the German Federal Environmental Foundation and supported by the Frankfurt Economic Development Agency, the first online network format for getting to know each other will start on October 18th at 12 p.m.
Fashion labels, ateliers, tailors and retailers in Frankfurt, Offenbach, Wiesbaden and the surrounding areas – with and without previous sustainability experience – can take part free of charge.
The participants are constantly in touch with each other about sustainable fashion via the Reflecta platform. All networking dates and lessons will be published there first. The first self-study lesson (What is happening to the world right now and what role does the fashion industry play in it?) has already been published there. Register at jaya@lustaufbesserleben.de.
Who can take part in Fashion Campus 2030? Fashion labels, ateliers, tailors and clothing retailers in the Rhine-Main area – with and without previous experience in sustainability.
How much does the campus cost? The campus is free of charge for participants.
What is the campus exactly? In a three-year training and networking program, the Fashion Campus 2030 offers needs-oriented online courses and practical tips, networking events and joint campaigns for the common goal of making the fashion industry more sustainable – free of charge and with the time investment that makes sense and is affordable for companies.
