David Beckham, recently, was asked if Sheikh Jassim was the right person to take over Manchester United. “We’ll see,” he told Sky Sports News.
However, in a separate interview with CNBC, Beckham emphasized that there had been no discussion regarding his possible involvement in the process.
“At the moment there are no discussions. I have had a relationship with Qatar for a long time, because of my involvement with PSG. Of course there will be a relationship and people unite the two,” said the 48 year old man.
“There will be a takeover, it’s the right time. We all have our own opinions about who should take over. But, I think it’s about who cares most about the club and will get the club back to where it needs to be.”
“Everyone knows I am a Manchester United fan and I am very vocal about the situation that is happening. I grew up there from a young age with a lot of stability with the same manager and owner,” continued Beckham.
“Manchester United will always be one of the biggest clubs in the world. We need to give that back to the fans, the players, the manager because at the moment, there is no stability. We need to talk about that again.” field, not out of it.”
“I want to see a group of owners who will bring the club back to what it should be. I’m not saying the past owners have done a bad job but this is the right time for someone else to take over,” concluded Beckham.
During his illustrious playing career at Old Trafford, David Beckham recorded 85 goals and 120 assists in 394 games for Manchester United. He won six Premier League titles in addition to one Champions League trophy.
