The death toll resulted from an air strike Israel to Gaza Strip increased to at least 1,900 people. More than 7,000 other people were injured as a result of the attacks which started a week ago.
As reported Al Jazeera and AFPSaturday (14/10/2023), the Palestinian Ministry of Health in its latest report on Friday (13/10) local time reported an increase in the number of deaths due to Israeli air strikes in the region.
Among the 1,900 people killed, the Health Ministry said Palestine614 of them were children and 370 of them were women.
The Palestinian Health Ministry report also stated that around 7,696 people were injured as a result of the Israeli attacks which lasted for the last seven days.
Apart from Gaza, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said, at least 14 Palestinians were killed in the West Bank throughout Friday (13/10) local time. Thus, a total of 49 people have died in the West Bank since last Saturday (7/10).
Israel has continued to pound the Gaza Strip over the past week, to retaliate against attacks Hamas last weekend which involved a raid by hundreds of armed militants and a barrage of rocket attacks. Israeli authorities reported that at least 1,300 people were killed as a result of Hamas attacks on its territory.
Hamas Says 70 People Died Due to Israeli Attacks While Evacuating
A number of Hamas officials reported that 70 people were killed as a result of Israeli air strikes that hit a convoy of residents fleeing Gaza City. It was stated that most of the victims killed were women and children.
Hamas media office, as reported Al Jazeera, said cars carrying Gaza residents were attacked in three locations as they headed south from Gaza City. It was not immediately clear who the target of the attack was or whether there were Hamas members among the passengers.
