Wind gusts of more than 70 km/h are forecast throughout the evening of Friday October 13 in Lyon and the Rhône department.

Météo France has placed the Rhône department on wind yellow vigilance. In total, thirty-six French departments are part of this yellow list.

The yellow level is the second on a scale of 4 (green, yellow, orange, red). Météo France characterizes the yellow level as follows: “Be attentive if you practice activities sensitive to meteorological risk; usual phenomena in the region but occasionally dangerous (e.g. mistral, summer thunderstorms) are expected; keep informed of the “meteorological evolution.”

The four large parks in Lyon were closed Friday afternoon due to the strong gusts of wind expected this Friday.

In the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, Ain and Isère are also among the departments classified under yellow vigilance for wind.
