The Kremlin respects the fact that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was absent from the summit of the heads of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries in Bishkek. Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov stated this when answering a question from URA.RU.
“He has his own reasons for this. We respect this. But this does not mean that we stop our contacts. We continue the dialogue. Armenia was, is and will be our ally, our neighbor and the country with which we are united by a common history and a common future. If only because there are still more Armenians living here than in Armenia itself. This is important to always remember,” added the Russian leader’s press secretary.
Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan did not attend the summit of the heads of the CIS countries, which was held in Bishkek on October 13. Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at the summit, noted that Armenia is not leaving the commonwealth and called the reasons for Pashinyan’s absence understandable.
