Alex Marquez canceled race in Mandalika. Having appeared in FP1, the Gresini Racing team rider finally decided to withdraw Indonesian MotoGP 2023.
Alex Marquez suffered an injury after crashing at the 2023 Indian MotoGP. Marc Marquez’s younger brother suffered three broken ribs.
This injury prevented Alex Marquez from racing at the Indian and Japanese MotoGP. He then got the green light to appear in the Indonesian MotoGP this weekend.

Alex Marquez took part in FP1 MotoGP Indonesia at the Mandalika Circuit, Friday (13/10) afternoon WIB. He fell at Turn 1 and seemed unable to lift his motorbike.
Gresini then confirmed that Alex Marquez could not continue appearing in the 2023 Indonesian MotoGP.
“Alex Marquez was absent from the #IndonesianGP due to pain after testing his body condition in FP1 MotoGP,” read Gresini’s statement on his social media account.

Alex Marquez now only has one week to recover before the Australian MotoGP series starts next week.
