The Loto or Euromillions jackpot is most often won in the most populated metropolises of France, reports Le Figaro who obtained figures from The French Games.
Looking at the data in more detail, our colleagues have listed the 37 municipalities where the winners are the most numerous (more than 6 people having won at least €500,000).
Nice in third position
Among them, we find Nice in third position after Paris and Marseille with 25 winners, Antibes with 6 winners and Toulon with 6 winners.
The latter two arrive in 6th position tied with Tarbes, Royan, Caen, Pantin, Nantes, Carcassonne, Chalon-sur-Saône, Epinal, Evry, La Rochelle, Lille, and Bourges.
Antibes escapes demographic logic
If it is generally the demographic logic that applies, certain cities with less than 100,000 inhabitants stand out. This is particularly the case of Antibes which has 74,875 inhabitants (2015 figures).
We particularly remember these five work colleagues in Antibes who won more than 2 million euros in the Loto.
