The second day of the Egypt International Badminton Championship, in its eighth edition, will begin this Friday morning, which will be held in Hall No. 2 of the Cairo International Stadium during the period from 12 to 15 October.
The technical meeting for the tournament was held on Wednesday evening, in the presence of Mauritian Jason, the general referee of the tournament, in one of the hotels near Cairo Stadium, to review all the regulations for the players and find out the final draw for the tournament.
The matches began with the preliminary rounds of the “Men’s Singles – Women’s Singles – Men’s Doubles – Women’s Doubles – Mixed Doubles” competitions.
The tournament will witness the participation of 172 male and female players representing 25 countries: Portugal – Mauritius – South Africa – Germany – Malaysia – Italy – UAE – India – England – Algeria – Jordan – Sri Lanka – Bahrain – Estonia – Kenya – France – Croatia – Canada – Denmark. – Luxembourg – Saudi Arabia – Poland – Uganda – Hungary – in addition to Egypt.
It is expected that the tournament will witness an intense presence by officials of the African and international confederation of the game, as Cairo will host, next to the international tournament, a training course on management and organization of tournaments and competitions, which will be attended by a large number of members and boards of directors of some continental federations and former players, with the aim of providing them with the necessary experience.
