Director Joo Dong-min of the drama ‘Escape of the Seven’, which was embroiled in controversy due to its provocative subject matter and directing, is leaving the drama.

‘Escape of the Seven’ made a huge move to change the director according to internal discussions. It was revealed that season 2 of ‘Escape of the Seven’ will be directed by director Oh Jun-hyuk, who co-directed season 1, rather than director Joo Dong-min.

Following ‘The Last Empress’ and ‘Penthouse’, director Joo Dong-min and writer Kim Soon-ok collaborated again to focus attention on ‘Escape of the Seven’, which was criticized by public opinion for its overly provocative subject matter and directing. ‘Escape of the Seven’, whose season system was confirmed from the planning stage, has currently finished filming Season 1 and is currently filming Season 2.

‘Escape of the Seven’ is a picaresque revenge drama depicting the struggle for survival of seven villains involved in the disappearance of a girl who disappeared through a tangle of lies and desires, and the bloody retribution against them.
