In fact, so far the 28 year old player is better known as a right back. Sandy can actually also occupy the right midfielder or center back post in the Indonesian National Team.

Regarding this, Shin Tae-yong gave an interesting explanation. The South Korean coach deliberately put Sandy Walsh in that position against Brunei Darussalam.

“Sandy Walsh is in the team’s position as a right full back,” said Shin Tae-yong.

“I really tried to make him a midfielder, because as an anticipation when we meet an opponent who is stronger than the Indonesian National Team, that’s what I thought,” explained Shin Tae-yong.
