This Friday, October 13, will be marked by a national strike called by several unions. Demonstrations are organized against austerity, for wages, pensions, the environment and gender equality. Disruptions are expected in transport, health and civil service and education.
In Montpellier, the municipality announces impacts in schools, school meal times, nursery services and daycare centers.
Services closed during the strike in Montpellier
According to a press release published this Thursday, October 12, six nurseries and daycare centers will be completely closed : Puss in Boots, The Cupola, Mary Poppin’s, Villeneuve d’Angouleme, Robin Hood and Mowgli. It will be the same for the Périclès elementary school. Other structures will be partially closed or reduced in staff.
School catering will also be closed in around thirty nursery and elementary schools. Receptions in the morning, late afternoon and early evening will also be affected by the strike in several establishments.
Setting up a minimum service
A minimum reception service will be set up on the ALSH Astérix, for children educated in schools where more than 25% of teachers are on strike and subject to the absence due to strike of their usual teacher. Parents must register their children on site on Friday morning, from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. No catering service is planned. It will therefore be appropriate to provide a picnic.
