Russia sympathizes with Hamas and has offered to help produce weapons, a spokesman for the group said.
The head of Hamas’s foreign relations committee, Ali Baraka, let slip about help from Russia. He spoke about the Russian Federation’s proposal to establish the production of Kalashnikov assault rifles with an official Russian license in Palestine.
A Hamas representative said this in an interview with Russian media, reports Telegram channel “Ukraine 365”.
In addition, he said that the Russians are sending Hamas messages in which they rejoice in the militants’ attacks on Israel, hoping that this will distract the United States from helping Ukraine.
Hamas had been secretly preparing for two years to attack Israel and notified other Palestinian factions, Hezbollah, allies in Iran, Turkey and Russia after the invasion began, Baraka said. He called Iran Hamas’s main ally, which provides the militants with money and weapons.
“There is also Hezbollah, Arab and Islamic peoples. There are countries that support us politically. Even Russia sympathizes with us.”said a Hamas spokesman.
Earlier, military blogger and former Israeli army officer Yigal Levin reported that the Russian Aerospace Forces are training Syrian special forces, which are an enemy of Israel. Syrian special forces act as instructors for Hezbollah militants and may engage in direct combat against the Israeli state if the war becomes large-scale with third parties joining it.
In turn, political scientist Sergei Sumlenny expressed confidence that Russia trained Hamas militants to use drones against Israeli tanks. Thus, he commented on footage of Palestinian militants attacking Israeli military equipment using drones.
