Knob Noster High School’s SPR Team 6424 Emerges Victorious at the 2023 Gateway Robotics Challenge

Knob Noster High School’s Stealth Panther Robotics (SPR) Team 6424 emerged victorious at the 2023 Gateway Robotics Challenge (GRC) held in St. Louis on October 7th. The team’s robot, Atlas, weighing 140 pounds and a three-time Regional Champion, played a pivotal role in the team’s success.

In this year’s GRC, 24 teams from Missouri and Illinois competed for the coveted Champion title. The event was hosted by Oakville High School, and it proved to be the final competition of the 2023 season for many teams.

The winning alliance consisted of SPR 6424, Ratchet Rockers Team 1706B, and Oakville Dynamics Team 8719B. Together, they showcased exceptional teamwork, strategic thinking, and unmatched robot performance.

GRC’s game, “FIRST Charged Up,” involved two alliances, each comprising three robots. The teams aimed to score points by strategically placing cubes and cones on an elevated multi-tiered grid. The robots also had to balance themselves on a teeter-totter-like charging station.

The next challenge awaiting the SPR Team 6424 is the annual Cow Town Throw Down (CTTD) event, which will take place on October 27th and 28th at Lee’s Summit High School. This event, open to the public, promises to be an exciting opportunity for the team to showcase their skills once again.

Knob Noster High School’s Stealth Panther Robotics Team 6424 demonstrated their expertise and dedication at the GRC, emerging as ultimate winners. They have proven themselves as strong competitors and continue to inspire curiosity and innovation in the world of robotics.
