The Jerusalem Post reported that “Israeli Health Minister Moshe Arbel directed that Hamas wounded be prevented from being treated in Israeli government hospitals.”
The newspaper quoted him as saying, “In these difficult times, the health care system must fully focus on treating victims of criminal retaliation, that is, treating IDF soldiers,” pointing out that “there is no doubt that the mission of ensuring security and treating terrorists in the public health system “…is greatly detrimental to these efforts, and therefore they will not be treated under my leadership.”
His statement came after information appeared in the media stating that wounded Palestinian militants would be transferred to government hospitals along with wounded Israelis.
It was reported that the Minister of Health informed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of his decision.
