Riyadh: The XP Future of Music Conference, the leading music conference in the Middle East, announced the launch of 8 initiatives during its edition held in December 2023, representing an integrated system designed to support and educate the next generation of talented people in music and promote integration with the aim of advancing the music scene in Middle East and North Africa region. Due to its distinction in shedding light on the reality and future of the music industry, the “XP Future of Music” conference has become a pioneering and increasingly important conference for all those interested in developing their careers and developing their relationships and knowledge of the music industry.
XP’s initiatives for the future of music are represented by the “XPerform” initiative, which is launched in cooperation with YouTube and sponsored by the Formula 1 STC Saudi Grand Prix, to carry out the mission of uncovering emerging talents in the region through a singing competition to test the potential for stardom, public acceptance and sound quality. And the “XCHANGE” initiative, which is a series of traveling workshops that visited in 2023, four cities: Abu Dhabi, Cairo, Amman, and Riyadh, to reach a better understanding of the regional music scene and its strengths, enhance its integration, identify the main topics of the conference program and enhance integration within the region, and will be documented. The conference will also witness the launch of the “Hunna” initiative to support women through an individual mentorship program designed to connect successful women in the music industry with emerging talents to promote equality in the regional music scene. To enable aspiring musicians and artists to develop their music and enhance their career path, the conference will launch the “Sound Futures” initiative, which is the musical version of the “Shark Tank” program, which will invite aspiring musicians and creators to present their original music and pioneering ideas to successful investors in the music industry, with the aim of securing financing. The XP Air initiative will provide a studio at the conference headquarters for music broadcasting and meetings with talent and musical groups, from the programs “XP Day” and “XP Night,” artists and industry leaders.
This year, the conference will also launch the Artist Management Bootcamp, with the aim of empowering artist managers in the region at the beginning of their careers through an intensive program, followed by the best six participants receiving mentorship with one of the world-renowned artist managers.
Through the “Storm Shaker” initiative, DJs will have the opportunity to compete in a competition to present their artistic performances at the “Soundstorm” festival organized by MDL Best. Initiative partners include DJ Corner, Berkeley University Abu Dhabi, and Sparked, with support from Panjaya and Deep Groves.
The conference also cooperates with Merwas, a talent incubator and artistic production company, and the leading independent radio podcast platform Sawt in the Middle East and North Africa.
These partners will host music production and arrangement workshops.
