Juventus Owner John Elkann and Coach Allegri Reflect on Club History and Desire for Success

Juventus owner John Elkann and coach Massimiliano Allegri were all smiles at the ‘Together, a Show in Black and White’ event, reflecting on the club’s history and their desire to get back to winning ways.

The Bianconeri hosted a big event at the PalaAlpitour in Turin on Tuesday evening, celebrating 100 years of ownership under the Agnelli family. Various club legends like Zinedine Zidane and Alessandro Del Piero took part in a sevens match and spoke about their history at the club.

Juventus are in the early stages of their post-Andrea Agnelli era and currently sit third in the Serie A table after eight games, collecting 17 points from five wins and two draws. They have an advantage in the title race as they do not participate in European competition, but Allegri reiterated that his aim is still to finish in the top four at the moment.

Speaking during “Together, a Black and White Show” via Prolongation TMWElkann discussed his pride and happiness with Juventus during their history.

“I felt so grateful to everyone here tonight, from the fans to the players. I’m very happy, 100 years is a long time. What we experienced was beautiful and exciting. We still have a lot to do together. In the meantime, I say thank you to everyone.

Allegri also highlighted his joy at the event while speaking to Sky Sports Italia via Prolongation TMW.

“It’s a wonderful and exciting evening. In the afternoon, I met those who marked the history of Juventus, like Marcello Lippi. A wonderful day.”

He was asked what he said to Lippi during their meeting.

“I have a long-standing relationship with Marcello, for me he has always been a reference, like Trapattoni, two winners. These are always beautiful and exciting days.

“I saw my former players again, who helped me win. Then I think of Gianluca Pessotto, with whom I work every day and who made 300 matches for Juventus.

The coach talked about which former player at the event he would have liked to work with.

“I was talking to Platini, he was my point of reference. And then there is Zidane. I am so happy to have been able to train these champions who brought me more joy than pain.

He spoke about what it feels like to be part of Juventus history.

“I am happy to be part of the Juventus family. I didn’t know until yesterday how many derbies I had won. I have a great desire to give and I want to try to win, which is not easy.

Finally, Allegri spoke about the responsibilities you assume at Juventus.

“When you work at Juventus, and that’s the beauty of it, you have to live under pressure, with great responsibility, to win. At these clubs, the pressure pushes you to do well.
