Stefan Kuntz is no longer Türkiye’s national coach. The former coach of the German U21 has been linked to a job in the Bundesliga.
Will Stefan Kuntz be seen on the sidelines in the Bundesliga in the future? The 60-year-old was most recently the national coach of Türkiye. He previously coached the German U21 from 2016 to 2021. Now the “Augsburger Allgemeine” reports that he is on the list of candidates at FC Augsburg as a replacement for the recently dismissed Enrico Maaßen.
FCA sporting director Marinko Jurendic said on Tuesday: “We now have to take the necessary time, perhaps talk to three candidates and see: who is the one who best suits our path.”
Kuntz is probably also a candidate for DFB women
Kuntz is said to be one of the candidates, alongside André Breitenreiter and Ralph Hasenhüttl. He has already proven that Kuntz can be successful. He became European champion with the U21 in the 2016/17 season and two years ago. Niklas Dorsch, Arne Maier and Finn Dahmen, among others, played in the last title. All three players are currently under contract in Augsburg.
According to the “Bild” newspaper, Kuntz should also be considered as the successor to the women’s national coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg, who is still ill.
