Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Forms Emergency Government to Confront Hamas Threat

The time has come to join forces and win against Hamas, says opposition politician in Israel, Benny Gantz, who joined a newly formed emergency government on Wednesday.

– There is a time for peace and a time for war. Now is a time for war, said Gantz, who is a former defense chief and general in Israel.

On Wednesday evening, he stood with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and promised heavy fire against Hamas, which attacked Israel at the weekend. Gantz and Netanyahu agreed earlier on Wednesday to form an emergency government, which involves an expansion of the government.

“We are fighting a common enemy, one that is worse than IS,” said Netanyahu, who said they had put their differences aside to secure Israel’s future.

– We want to wipe out Hamas from the face of the earth. They will cease to exist, Gallant agreed.
