In October 2021, it was announced that 2004’s Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas would arrive on Quest headsets. Meanwhile, the entire 3D trilogy has been released on new platforms, but the Quest version is still nowhere to be found. And so the magazines on her UploadVR a Road to VR (via Eurogamer) asked. The spokesperson for Meta was not too forthcoming. UploadVR got the response: “No comment.” Road to VR then a statement that the company has nothing new to say on this topic.
This doesn’t mean the project is cancelled, of course, but given that it was said to have been in the works for many years when it was announced, it’s odd to say the least. All the more so since the game was not even discussed at the Connect event, and at the same time it would be perfect for the launch of the new Quest 3 headset, which has since replaced the second generation. It doesn’t even seem like it has to be such a technical nut, so fans just fumble. All we have to do is wait.
