“I feel good both in the water and on land, that’s all I can really say. It’s unnecessary to talk about form, because for now the important thing is to get used to it – the 23-year-old athlete told MTI at Mol’s car press event on Wednesday. – If I feel that I have reached the shape to challenge myself, then I want to compete.”
When asked by journalists what he expects from himself at next week’s World Cup in Budapest, where his coach Balázs Virth announced last week that he will return, Milák simply answered: “We’ll see”, and did not wish to add anything more to the topic.
The world record holder announced in mid-June that he would not compete in the World Championships in Fukuoka. He said then that he was neither physically nor mentally in a condition to be among the best in the world. He started training again at the beginning of September, when his coach reported that his student really benefited from rest, he is hungry for success, and his goals are floating in front of his eyes.
According to Milák, however, he didn’t put as much effort into his preparation as he was used to, and only one competition, the Paris Olympics, is floating in front of his eyes.
The BHSE athlete also revealed that he finally managed to spend his Wednesday afternoon rest in a meaningful and active way thanks to the organization of his sponsor.
“I was able to sit behind the wheel and in the mother-in-law’s seat, I felt very comfortable, as it is a very unique experience and cannot be compared with anything else” – he said at the Euroring in Örkény, where he was able to try out a Cupra Formentor, and then he had to put together a hot dog while driving around with touring car driver Dániel Nagy.
