Is There Anything You Would Like to Change? Exploring Golf, Passion, and Style

Is there anything you would like to change?

Golf is certainly not a cheap sport: the equipment costs money, as does access to the courses, and it takes a lot of time. You have to practice a lot to get good: a whole game takes four to five hours, and these days you don’t have that much patience. If the game were a little faster, the younger generation would also find it more attractive.

Do you have any other passions besides golf?

First of all, my family. Then I appreciate good food and good wine, I’m interested in art history, and when I’m in Florida I also like to go fishing. I also had my own wine for about fifteen years. I produced it with Bill Terlato, who we became friends with while playing golf. His family has always made wine and has Italian roots: they were the first to bring Pinot Grigio to the United States in the 1960s.

Is there a character that inspires your style?

Clint Eastwood is a legend, not just because of his style, but also because of the way he does things. I also really like Steve McQueen. And finally there is David Beckham: a master of style who is comfortable in different situations and with different looks.

Speaking of watches, which is your favorite Rolex?

I’ve been a Rolex testimonial for almost twenty years and have a great relationship with them – they’re like family to me. I like many models, but my favorite is undoubtedly the Daytona; With its shape, it immediately makes you think of a beautiful racing car that can be driven with elegance.
