Police investigation underway following illegal party in Sillschlucht; Lockdown proposed for future prevention

After the illegal party in the Sillschlucht near Natters, the responsible district authority of Innsbruck-Land is waiting for the results of the police investigation, the “Tiroler Tageszeitung” reports. The authority then checks whether there are violations in terms of “event law, environmental law or child protection law,” confirms a spokesman for the state government office. The police are initially focusing on three Germans (19, 25 and 26 years old) who are said to have organized the rave.

Lockdown requested from 8 p.m

As reported, Marco Untermarzoner, mayor of Natters, alerted the police at around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday night and ordered the party to be broken up in a wooded area in the municipality in the Sillschlucht area. As the officers on site were able to determine, several hundred people were celebrating with extremely loud music and lighting, and some campfires were also burning. While the area was being cleared, train traffic on the Brenner Railway line had to be stopped until five o’clock.

Local councilor Gerald Depaoli (Gerechtes Innsbruck), on the other hand, wants to hold Innsbruck mayor Georg Willi accountable, even if the rave took place on the weekend in Natter municipality. He calls on the city leadership to develop a security concept and close the entrances to the Sillschlucht from 8 p.m.
