Spanish Sevilla announced on its official website the appointment of Diego Alonso as head coach of its first team.

The contract with the 48-year-old specialist runs until the end of the season. Alonso’s previous place of work was the Uruguay national team, which he left after failing to qualify from the group at the 2022 World Cup. Previously, he coached Inter Miami, Mexican Monterrey and Pachuca, Paraguayan Olimpia and Guarani, and Uruguayan Penarol.
