On October 21 at 11.00 a.m., the “Drawing Theater” will visit the Mārupe Culture House with the performance “Musical Workshop”. “Zimēmėju teatris” is a professional chamber theater founded in 2008 by the director and actor Varis Klausitajs. The theater is characterized by a unique form of theater that combines drawing on the stage, music, dance and acting. Performance “Musical workshop”, performance-improvisation, where three artists of different professions improvise together with the audience. The performance includes: painter Ingrīda Ivane, musician Aleksejs Bahirs and improviser Varis the listener. The content and design of each show is unique.
The performance begins with improvised musical compositions that describe the characters that the audience would like to see in the performance. The painter also improvises, because the audience participates in the creation of characters and events, so it is not known in advance what will be drawn. Along with the ongoing events and improvised songs, maybe even dances, a large drawing is created on the stage wall. At the end of the show, the audience has the opportunity to try their hand at drawing and add to the big picture.
