Testimony has emerged that Hamas, an Islamic militant group in the Gaza Strip of Palestine, murdered an elderly Israeli man and then uploaded a photo of the body to the victim’s Facebook page for authentication. The bereaved family said that they only found out that their family member had died after accidentally accessing Facebook and seeing this post.
According to foreign media such as the Associated Press and The Times of Israel, Mor Vader, who lives in Israel, accessed Facebook on the morning of the 8th (local time) and saw a shocking scene. A photo of his grandmother’s body had been posted on his paternal grandmother’s Facebook account. The background in the photo was also my grandmother’s house located in Nir Oz. Nir Oz is an area about 3km from the border with the Gaza Strip in southern Israel.
Bader, who heard about the surprise attack by Hamas on the news, said he only learned that his grandmother had died at the hands of Hamas members after seeing photos of the corpse.
“My grandmother was brutally murdered in Nir Oz, where she had lived all her life,” Bader said. “Terrorists broke into her house, killed her, took her smartphone, and filmed her body.” “Her grandmother was the light and pillar of my life,” he continued, adding, “The moment I saw her grandmother’s picture was like the nightmare of her life.”
While Hamas, which made a surprise attack on Israel on the 7th, is indiscriminately kidnapping or killing civilians, testimony from a survivor who was kidnapped by Hamas and barely escaped continued.
Avital Alazem, who lives in a kibbutz, was kidnapped by Hamas while at home. He is said to have been hiding in the house the weekend Hamas raided the village.
