It is likely that discussions will begin with Glasner. However, Glasner is not the only candidate for the job. The Rangers are also said to be looking at ex-Glasgow professional Kevin Muscat (Yokohama FM) and Philippe Clement (most recently AS Monaco).
The Rangers are currently looking for a successor to Michael Beale, who was released at the beginning of October.
Glasner has been without a club since leaving Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer. Most recently, the Salzburg native was also in discussion with the French top club Olympique Lyon before the Italian Fabio Grosso took over as coach there.
