The Intel 300 Series: A Low Budget CPU Option for Basic Tasks

The 300 series will be a low budget / entry-level CPU; see here.
If correct, this will be a Pentium / Celeron / Atom CPU, with which you can only perform basic tasks. Not really intended for intensive tasks, such as 2K / 4K streaming, but more for light Office use, email and browsing.

But even then, you’re better off choosing the i3. Although I recommend an i5 for most people, because the i5 is a lot faster and can handle a little more over time. Nowadays, most basic applications already require quite a bit of system resources (CPU and RAM). You don’t buy a laptop or desktop and then replace it every other year, but you can use it for a longer period of time. Then you need a system that has more resources than what people ultimately want to do with it. (yes, a Core i7 is overkill for someone who does basic use, hence the i5)

In addition, the names of the CPUs are not very difficult and with a little memorization you will understand it in no time. Take the Core i7 14700K for example; the 14 indicates that it is the 14th generation Core i7, the 700 stands for the last 3 digits of the SKU and the K stands for unlocked.
