His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, ordered the establishment of a new headquarters for the Sharjah Cultural and Sports Club, with a financial budget of 350 million dirhams, on an area of three million square feet (double the area of the club’s current headquarters).
The new headquarters will include a main stadium, an administrative building, halls for group and individual games, and sports and service facilities, and will be located at the intersection between the Sharjah-Khorfakkan and Al-Dhaid-Khorfakkan roads.
The order was announced by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Engineer Ali bin Shaheen Al Suwaidi, Head of the Public Works Department, during an intervention on the “Direct Line” program on Sharjah Radio and Television.
For his part, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Sports Club, Ali Salem Al Midfa, the members of the Board of Directors, and the club’s members, extended their highest thanks, appreciation and gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, for His Highness’s generous generosity in issuing his directives to establish A new integrated headquarters equipped with all facilities for the club.
Al Midfa confirmed that this decision, which made the members and fans of the Sharjah Sports Club happy and heartened, represents a qualitative shift in the club’s facilities for the better, and that it is not strange for the Ruler of Sharjah, who always supports sports and athletes in the emirate, and also confirms His Highness’s keenness to plan. And development in all fields, and his insightful vision for the present and future, which always puts the Emirate of Sharjah at the forefront.
Al Midfa pledged, in his name and in the names of all the club members, His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, to work and diligently to continue achieving achievements in all games, locally and internationally, to raise the name of the Sharjah Club and the state flag high, and he said: “This is the least that any athlete affiliated with the club can do as an expression of his thanks.” To our father, Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi.”
