FC Bayern Munich clinched its fifth win of the season on matchday 7. The record champions beat SC Freiburg. Co-captain Thomas Müller was also there – and collected his 322nd Bundesliga win and an assist on the opening goal. He is now at the top of the record winners – together with teammate Manuel Neuer, who has also recorded 322 Bundesliga victories in his career to date.

Thomas Müller even needed 30 games less than Neuer. While the goalkeeper celebrated his 322nd victory in the 478th game, Müller now achieved it in the 448th game. With another win on matchday 8, Müller could secure the sole record if Neuer doesn’t make a lightning comeback after starting team training and defend his record status. The goalkeeper has not played since matchday 16 of the 2022/23 season due to a broken lower leg.

Thomas Müller has held the record for most wins for the same club for a long time. Because the first five seasons and thus some victories in Neuer’s career took place at FC Schalke 04. Not so with Müller: He played all of his 448 Bundesliga games in the FC Bayern Munich jersey. He contributed an outstanding 144 Bundesliga goals to his 322 victories.
Thomas Müller also secured his status as the record champion player this summer with his twelfth Bundesliga title. Müller is well on his way to catching up with Bayern legend Sepp Maier as FC Bayern’s record player. The goalkeeper completed 473 Bundesliga appearances in the FCB jersey. Müller still has 25 games left by then – so he could set another record this season.
