The consumer market is booming during the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday this year

Beijing, October 8 (Reporter Wang Wenzheng) Reporters learned from the State Administration of Taxation that value-added tax invoice data showed that during this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday, China’s consumer market was booming, with sales revenue in consumer-related industries increasing by 21.3% year-on-year. Among them, service consumption and commodity consumption increased by 20.9% and 21.6% respectively year-on-year.

Residents are traveling more and the tourism market is booming. Sales revenue from tourism services increased 1.1 times year-on-year. Among them, the resumption of long-term travel and outbound travel drove the sales revenue of travel agencies and related service industries to increase by 1.7 times year-on-year; the sales revenue of scenic spots and leisure and sightseeing activities increased by 2 times and 43.8% year-on-year respectively; the sales revenue of amusement parks increased by 81.2% year-on-year. At the same time, sales revenue from accommodation and catering services increased by 25.5% year-on-year, of which sales revenue from tourist hotels, camping ground services, and homestay services increased by 1.3 times, 1.5 times, and 45.5% year-on-year respectively.

Driven by the Hangzhou Asian Games, residents’ demand for cultural and sports consumption has increased, and the cultural and sports service consumption market has heated up rapidly. The sales revenue of cultural and sports services increased by 45.4% year-on-year, of which the sales revenue of art performance venues and mass cultural and sports activities services increased by 68.6% and 76.9% year-on-year respectively; the sales revenue of sports-related services increased by 27.1% year-on-year.

The relevant person in charge of the State Administration of Taxation analyzed that during the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday, the consumption potential of Chinese residents was effectively released. Tourism consumption drove a substantial increase in sales revenue of accommodation and catering services, cultural and sports services, etc. The holiday economic effects continued to appear, fully demonstrating the resilience and vitality of the Chinese economy. .
