Panoramic view of Taean Marine Police Station. Seoul Shinmun DB Police are investigating the possibility that their son, who was with them, may have been involved in the disappearance of an elderly couple in their 70s who went missing and were found dead in a mudflat during the Chuseok holiday.
The Taean Marine Police Station announced on the 8th that it is investigating the arrest of Mr. A, in his 40s, the son of an elderly couple in their 70s who went missing last month and was found dead, on charges of aiding and abetting suicide.
According to the police, Mr. A’s mother, Mr. B, was found dead near the mud flat where he disappeared on the morning of the 1st, and his father, Mr. C, was found dead in the sea near Yeondo, Gunsan, Jeollabuk-do on the morning of the 6th. It was reported that the bodies of the deceased couple showed no signs of murder.
The police explained that after checking the CCTV footage of the deceased couple entering the sea with their son, Mr. A, it was confirmed that only Mr. C came out of the sea.
The police are investigating the details of the incident, leaving open the possibility that Mr. A may have been involved in the disappearance of the elderly couple.
