The UAE ranked first in the Middle East and North Africa region, and 15th in the world in the value of annual salaries received by professionals and experts in cybersecurity, according to the list issued by the American “CEO World” magazine.
The magazine reported in the report attached to the results of the list that the average annual salary received by a cybersecurity expert in the Emirates is $96,656, explaining that a large number of the Emirates’ residents belong to the category of owners of huge personal wealth, which makes the country threatened by enormous cyber dangers, due to the desire of data hackers. In hacking the personal data of these wealthy people and their bank accounts, which creates a great demand for jobs of cybersecurity experts, of all categories.
The UAE outperformed Japan, Hong Kong, Sweden, France, Iceland, Spain, and Italy, all of which were outside the top 15 on the list. The list was topped by Switzerland, where the average annual salary earned by a cybersecurity expert is $151,305, followed by Luxembourg with an average of $131,414, and then the United Kingdom with an average of $172,502. Denmark, the United States, Norway, the Netherlands, Belgium, Canada, Germany, Australia, Finland, Austria, and Singapore occupied places from fourth to fourteenth, respectively.
