The police and health responded on Saturday to a report that a person had been hit outside the Munkebot tunnel in Bergen.
– It was a woman in her 20s who unfortunately died in the traffic accident in Sandviksveien, writes the West police district in a press release.
The woman was hit by a car as she was about to cross the road on the south side of the Munkebot tunnel.
– Cardiopulmonary resuscitation was immediately initiated, but the person concerned was unfortunately reported dead, the police said earlier.
Relatives have been notified and offered follow-up by health personnel.
There were two people in the car. Both were taken for a health check at the Bergen emergency department.
At 22.58, the police state that the tunnel is open again.
Crime technicians and the accident team of the National Roads Administration have carried out technical investigations at the scene.
