The name of the cars is as striking as the design. After all, it is the main characteristic of the model, and will forever be remembered for its baptism. Therefore, manufacturers hold several meetings before deciding on the name. It happens that sometimes the bad thing is invoked, and manufacturers decide to name the vehicles in the same way that the bad thing is known.
Devilish cars: Lamborghini Diablo
Lamborghini Diablo [divulgação]When we think of cars that bear the Devil’s name, Lamborghini’s supercar is one of the first to come to mind. Launched in the 1990s to replace the Countach (which has a really cool name), the Diablo actually didn’t use the seven-legged name well.
In reality, the model followed Lamborghini’s tradition of naming its cars after historical bulls. And, coincidentally, the chosen animal was called Diablo. In other words, like it or not, in the end the car ended up having a devilish name, and became one of the brand’s icons.
Dodge Challenger Demon
Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 [divulgação]Dodge is a brand that likes to use its name. And, to mark the farewell to the V8 engine in the Challenger, the brand chose to use it once again. The Challenger Demon 170 is the definitive version of the muscle car, limited to 3,000 cars and having 1,039 hp, when fueled with American ethanol, which uses 15% gasoline in its composition.
Willys Capeta
Willys Capeta [reprodução/Facebook]In the 1960s, Willys had Interlagos as its sports car in Brazil. The brand decided to launch an even more spicy model, and presented the Capeta during the 1964 Motor Show. Despite attracting attention, mainly due to the 148 hp 2.6 engine, the car was never produced.
Kia Besta
Kia Besta [divulgação]According to the Holy Bible, the Beast is a representation of evil that is associated with the Antichrist. It turns out that Kia, unintentionally, ended up making a reference to it when it launched its commercial van. The Korean brand’s idea was to say that its vehicle was the best in category A, which represents these models. The result was Beast, which in addition to being synonymous with those who are foolish in Brazil, also makes reference to this quote from the Bible.
Fiat Mefistofele
Fiat Mefistofele [divulgação]100 years ago, Fiat launched one of its most diabolical cars, both in name and performance. Mephistopheles is an ally of Lucifer in German tradition, and was the name chosen for the car that used a 21.7 engine with 320 hp, of nautical origin. This was in the 1920s.
